Tila — Privacy Policy

Tila helps Shopify merchants audit and improve their product data so products are more complete and machine-readable for Google Shopping, AI assistants and marketplaces. This policy explains what data Tila accesses, how we use it, and your rights.

What we access

With your permission (the read_products and write_products scopes), Tila accesses your product data only — product titles, descriptions, types, vendors, tags, variants, SKUs, barcodes, images and image alt text, SEO fields, and product metafields.

Tila does not request or access customer data, orders, payments, checkout, inventory locations, fulfilment, or financial information.

What we store

To provide the service, Tila stores, in a secure database: a snapshot of your product data, readiness scores and identified gaps, AI-generated suggested fixes (before you approve them), and a log of changes you publish and undo. We store the minimum needed to show before/after comparisons and to let you undo published changes.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall Tila, we delete your shop's stored data. We honour Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customer data request, customer redaction, and shop redaction). Because Tila stores no customer personal data, customer requests are acknowledged with no data to return; shop redaction deletes all data we hold for your store. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.
